For the Virtual Private Space (SPV) and electronically filed tax returns, ANAF requires a qualified certificate issued by a provider on the Trusted List. What ANAF requires, exactly

SPV access for legal persons, sole traders and liberal professions requires a qualified certificate (Fiscal Procedure Code, art. 80; OPANAF 1090/2022). Electronically filed tax returns (D112, D300, D301, D390, D394 etc.) are signed with the same qualified certificate (OPANAF 2213/2025, Annex 1, point 2).

ANAF does not require a specific provider or a USB token. It requires the certificate to be qualified and issued by a provider on the Trusted List; Simplifi (SIMPLIWORKS SRL) is on Romania's list.

How to register in SPV with Simplifi

SPV registration with a certificate happens on the ANAF portal and requires the certificate to be visible in the browser. For that you install Simplifi Sign, which exposes your cloud certificate to the operating system, exactly like a token.

Returns, e-Factura, proxies

Once registered, you use the same certificate to file returns (ANAF smart PDFs are signed in Adobe Reader with Simplifi Sign), for e-Factura and for the proxies an accountant files on behalf of the company. An accountant registers once with their own certificate and adds the companies they represent.

Common errors

Certificate not shown in the browser: Simplifi Sign is not running or you are not signed in to the app
“Unregistered certificate”: the confirmation document has not yet been approved by ANAF (usually 1-3 working days)
The smart PDF cannot be signed in the browser: open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader and sign with Simplifi Sign
